#LivingDream open class: Design thinking for finding and nurturing dream and passion 18 June 2017

Design Thinking is a methodology that is used by designers to deliver creative solution to design problems. Not only used by the designers, design thinking has been applied in business and education. Despite being a hot topic, it is still unknown by many young students and graduates in Vietnam. After a trial teaching session for Living Dream team, we find that a simple concept of Design Thinking can be applied to help change people’s mindset and empower them to find their passion and realize their potential.

In the specific context of Vietnam, schools or families usually do not teach children and teenagers to explore and express themselves but to be obedient to traditional values. Where creativity is still hindered by the culture (such as avoiding failure, being risk-averse, and being reserved), while large pool of talents and fast-moving economy are also driving creativity forward, we believe more undiscovered potential of Vietnam can be revealed by introducing the concept of Design Thinking to more people.

Simplicity, as always, will be the core feature of Living Dream classes. The material and content for this class will be the very basic of Design Thinking concept, as a first step toward more applications of Design Thinking in the future of Living Dream, as well as to enable more people to understand and apply the concepts for themselves.

This will be the pioneer class in applying Design Thinking to large public, as the core mission of Living Dream, to bring equal learning opportunities to everyone. Being the first to do it, we have been sending out the materials to experts for their support and feedback and continuing to improve the class materials.
